Sorting and Packing

Today is the day we begin sorting through our stuff. Our things. Our belongings. A daunting task that I can't say I am actually looking forward to. Normally I like to "go through" things. I suppose this time it is different because of the impending move and uncertainty.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.  ~1 Peter 5:6-10

So this is where God led me this morning. Hmmm. Certainly seems appropriate, don't you think? These are not new verses to me. However, I decided to read further into the footnotes where I found this:

God is able and willing to bless us according to his timing. Humbly obey God regardless of present circumstances, and in his good time he will lift you up.

On the previous page, I had written these words from a sermon somewhere in my past:

When humbled:
   1) Accept responsibility.
   2) Submit to the promises of God - claim the scriptures.
   3) Rest in the knowledge that God's timing is always right.

These are the verses and words I will be dwelling on today~

These verses speak so much to trusting that God is Who He says He is. Praying for all of you in this time of transitions. He is COMPLETELY faithful.

Hi Kellie, I too pray for peace in your heart as you meditate on these verses which seem to be perfect for you during this time of transition. I have had many times in life where I wasn't sure, but our heavenly Father was always there to reassure me even when I wasn't very trusting in His word. Continue to believe that He keeps His promises, loves you with an undying love and He knows your heart every single minute of every day. Let it be said of us that we are women after God's own heart. Just as it was with David, God looks on our heart and He knows what it will take to bring us into His perfect will for our lives. (also remember David wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it was still said of Him that he was a man after God's own heart.)Be blessed. P.S. I love how the scripture says that Satan prowls around LIKE a roaring lion. The fact is he is all roar and can't bite those that are children of the Most High God. We need to resist every day, take a stand and hold our Father's banner high. Thank you Lord! :D

Love to hear that you are resting on these words from the Lord...sooo great! Funny how verses that we've read over and over can strike a new chord during certain seasons of our lives...His Word truly is living and active!
